I can tell this pregnancy is progressing.
Not only am I as big as a house (with 2 months to go - ugh), but 10,000 steps is starting to feel like 20,000.
The good news is that I
was able to get in
all my steps. And I got 3 loads of laundry done and put away, the kitchen picked up, meals planned for tomorrow, grocery shopping done, the upstairs picked up and vacuumed, the kids started on their sewing / weaving projects, more laundry to be switched to be ready for tomorrow morning and jell-o jigglers for 50 (
YES - 50) kids made. Add this to it being the first day of Summer Vacation and having all three kids around the house for most of the day (thank goodness for Vacation Bible School in the morning for the older two) and I think that makes for a full day.
Nate and Sam even "helped" a lot with dinner. I showed them how to chop and skin garlic and they helped me make bruschetta and roast potatoes. Mmmmm. Now if I could only get Sam to eat the stuff that he helps make. Good luck to me with that. If it doesn't have Cheerios or yogurt, it just ain't going to happen...
Dinner prep was pretty uneventful until Nate picked up half a tomato and ate it like an apple.
Seriously.
Ew.
I didn't even bother to try to stop him. Resistance is futile.
So I'm winding down by listening to the Dodgers game. The Red Sox game
made my ears bleed. Bleh. Hopefully Vin's storytelling can lull me into enough relaxation to get a decent night of sleep. My coughing has been better. Thank goodness. Nate has ended up in our bed the past two nights, so that has been an impediment to sleep. He likes to snuggle and play with Mama's hair and Nate does not do anything half-heartedly. When he snuggles, it is a full contact sport. Think
Bruce Smith taking on Drew Bledsoe. It ain't pretty.
Last Saturday we took on 200,000 Girl Scouts and ventured into DC. We took it as an opportunity to see some of the less popular museums in the Smithsonian. We got to the
Freer Gallery and the
Museum of African Art. Both were very nice and not crowded at all. Well worth the trip in.
The kids were most impressed by the water fountains. Hey - whatever it takes. Art comes in all forms, right?
We ran into my old boss from Connecticut that I haven't seen in at least 7 years. She was down at the Jamboree with her daughter. It was wonderful to see her.
We also ran into some people that live down the street from my parents.
How random.
I can't go anywhere without seeing someone I know!
Baby Q is getting rambunctious just in time for me to go to bed.
Figures.
Grammy and Grandpa sent down some new undies for Nate. He
loves them. Now all we have to do is get that potty thing going. He tells me when he has done something and wants to change his diaper and shows enough gross motor control that I think toilet training would be possible at this point, but I'm still not sure it's one of those things that is worth it to push. We'll try it and see. Not like we've got anything else to do...
