New Blip Vids

We've got a couple of new vids up...but I wanted to post on this one - Caroline wanted to wear her new (as of Christmas) flip flops, which are still too big but just fit with her heavy yellow fuzzy socks...this is her running around the kitchen with them - she loves the SHOOP-SHOOP sound they make on the floor!

Caroline really loves these flip-flops

Butterflies

We found a really great link about cheap/free things to do in the Worcester area (who knew that The American Sanitary Plumbing Museum was in our backyard?!?!) and seeing that we really didn't have anything going on this weekend - we decided to go on an adventure.

We went to the Butterfly Place in Westford, MA. It was, by far, one of the coolest daytrips that we've been on. First of all - it's a huge glass greenhouse that's eighty degrees inside. BONUS!!! There was a fish pond in there, a butterfly museum, quails running around and butterflies everywhere. Butterflies like I have never seen before - green, blue, purple. And they were huge. They would fly right up to you and even land on you if you sat quietly. We got tickets for free admission on another day as well because they said that the butterflies weren't flying around like they normally do because it's so cold - but even so - this place was great. Truly amazing.

Here are some shots we got today:

After the Butterfly Place, we went up to visit Caroline's Grammy and Grampy. She had fun - and this was the scene on the way home:

And then after dinner, Caroline thoroughly enjoyed one of Uncle Carl's Gingersnaps :

A great day was had by all!

Salem Regional

The WGI Regional in Salem, MA was this past weekend. I've had my guard fix for the winter, so we didn't go up to see it. But WGI was nice enough to post some highlights on the website. We'll see if I can figure out how to link them here... (*UPDATE* - somehow I messed up the link - you will need to click on the Salem Regional part of the graph to have all the videos come up - sorry)

Blessed Sacrament has definetly gotten their show more together since we last saw them. Their soloists nailed their performances and from the video this show continues to look like they're in line for a medal. I wish they could have shown "If You Could Read My Mind" because that was the part of the show that needed the most tweaking in Milton and I would love to see what they've done with it. Like I said before, I think that if they can pull off their tribute to themselves (something that only Sac could do) - these performers are going to have a show that people will be talking about years from now.

I also liked the show from Trumbull High, but watching it I couldn't help but think of St Ann's show in 1992 (same song - but different artist - and pretty similar show design from what I can see).

Sacred Heart looked pretty good, too. Boy, those girls can spin. I think they're what St Ann's used to be in World Class in Eastern Mass.

Caroline is (finally) down for a nap. Okay - she's not quite napping yet. But she's in her crib and quiet. So far. We'll see how long it lasts. She HAS to be tired. I know I am from chasing her around all day.

Tuesday

I have most of this week off - and it's not as much fun as getting a new roof...(corny joke - I know - but I had to do it)...

We decided to make hay while the sun was shining and went to McDonalds in Spencer this afternoon to play on the playground. This was actually the first time I had set foot in McDonalds since seeing "Super-Size Me". I have to admit, the food still totally grosses me out, but I did buy something off the dollar menu and took it home with us (dessert tonight) - just so I wouldn't feel bad that we were there playing for almost two hours. Caroline did end up conquering the slide, but much preferred going down on the steps to using the actual slide.

Oh - and something else from this morning...
Nothing says "Good Napping" like coming in to see this:

Super Gigs...

Caroline woke up this morning in a super giggly mood. Everything was funny. Now she's asleep - so apparently everything was exhausting, too (but I'm not complaining)...
It's been so cold here that now it's 15 degrees out - it actually feels warm. At least we're not in Oswego!
We saw a great show on PBS last night - "The War That Made America". It was so interesting - much of it was vaguely familiar from learning local history in school - but a lot of it was new, too. They always find ways to present history like the soap opera it was. We're definetly going to tune in for part two.

Here are some recent pics...

Snow Angels

It's 9 o'clock on a Saturday morning. We've already picked up the house, started the laundry, shoveled the driveway and the front steps, run the dishwasher, been to Friendly's for breakfast and played outside in the snow.
Remember those Saturday mornings when you didn't have anything to do that was important enough that you couldn't lay in bed until 9 o'clock?
Okay - well, I don't either. =-)
Caroline started to play with her Pablo doll about 5:15 and kept herself entertained until 6 (her usual wake up time) and we've been going ever since.
Jim is rocking with her hoping that she'll settle down and maybe (gasp!!!) nap.

Playing in the snow was a lot of fun. It only took us fifteen minutes to get Caroline in her snowsuit (we thought that was pretty good for the first time). We've got more snow last night than we've got all winter (only about three inches). I had almost forgotten how much fun snow is...
