A Lovely Day

A "lovely day" (in Caroline's words) was had by all today. It was busy, but fun and included going to work to do some filing with Mama, going to BJs, having someone come and fix the front door, planting marigolds and spending gads of time outside blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk, riding bikes and playing soccer.
To top it off, Caroline and I got to go to see "Cinderella" that our church CYC put on. It was impossibly good and Caroline did wonderfully and really enjoyed herself. It was our first Girl's Night.
Here we are all dressed up and ready to go:

Rest.

Today we had our day of rest. It was very nice and much deserved, if I do say so myself.
The only things we did were go to church, make dinner and go to the playground. Both kids even took two hour naps (at the SAME time - who knew that was possible???).
I'm not sure if I'm ready to face the week ahead. But it's coming whether I like it or not.
Good luck, Patrick. I would tell you to break a leg, but I think the MD has that covered. =-)
Here are some catch-up pictures from the past week...
Caroline and me after making our Easter cake:

Here are the kids in the fort we made in the kitchen using blankets and dining room chairs:

And these are from today at the playground:

Sam is totally a man after my heart. He loves to vacuum.

And now it's time for bed.
Good night.

Slacker

Okay - I'll admit. I've been slacking with the blog posts.
I do have some good excuses, though.
I think the kids have had a contest to see which one could produce the most snot. Needless to say, it was only a matter of time before Jim and I got sick. Not much fun.
But here are some pictures from Easter...and then I'm going to bed.

Pictures are courtesy of Caroline and Sam's Grampy and Grampa:

Sam had a great time eating the cake:

Sam also got some great new jammies:

But we soon found some kryptonite. It was super plentiful at nap time:

One More Quote:

To add to Caroline's random quotes:
The other morning she was at Ria's and commenting on Ria's son's bracelet. It had some religious pictures on it.
Sean asked Caroline is she knew who the pictures were of.
Caroline said (in her lilting Worcester accent), "Sure. This is Jesus. This is Mary. And this is Tinkerbell."
They were still laughing when I got there at five o'clock.

Caroline Quote of the Day

Caroline likes to be naked.
Whenever. Wherever. It doesn't matter to her.
This can make things, shall we say, interesting.

Take this afternoon. She went to the potty. No big deal.
She was in there a little while. But again - no big deal. She likes to read (it's all about instilling the good habits while they're young =-)).
All of the sudden, I hear the pitter-patter of little feet. I'm busy with Sam, so I don't look up when she walks into the room. Caroline sits out of my line of sight, so it's a few minutes before I notice that she doesn't have a stitch of clothing on.
"Caroline," I ask, "Where are your clothes?"
"I don't know, Mama. They disappeared."

Uh huh.

Sunday Night

After I was finished blogging, I was going to do some ironing. But I'm thinking at this point that I'm just going straight to bed.
It's been a great week, but I'm exhausted.
Patrick and Erica were here last weekend.
Dr Auntie Chrissy was here. She was also nice enough to give Caroline some expert advise on dinosaur care. Ulty was not feeling well this morning, but is doing much better now. Thank you!
My parents were nice enough to drive out to watch the kids so Jim and I could go to the Tolleson Draft (our eleventh - HOLY COW!).
Oh - and in the middle there, I had a run-in with the Noro-virus. Good times. It has taken its course, but I'm still very, very tired. Thank goodness no one else picked it up.

We're going to play catch-up with the pictures:
Here is Caroline all dolled up and super excited to go to Boston and pick up Auntie Dr Chrissy at the airport.

Caroline and Chrissy also had a grand time making a cake from scratch:

We did some playing outdoors, even though it felt less than spring-like:

This morning, while Sam was taking his nap, Caroline held an impromptu birthday party for Maisy, George and the T-Rex - complete with hats and everything! It was pretty cute:

PS - Sam was really around this weekend. But I think he was running too fast to get into any of the pictures. Right now the only pictures we can get of him are when he's sleeping. He's everywhere.
PPS - IT'S BASEBALL SEASON!!!!!
