Some Pics from the past week or so...

I'd love my job, too, if this was all I had to do (very funny, Matt, I know)...

AND....

She's a big girl most of the time, but sometimes she still gets to be my baby...

Tuesday Night

Caroline is down. Okay, she's quiet. Weeeellll...okay, at least she's not pounding on the walls screaming "Nemo, Dori, Mama, PLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSE!"

It's all about the small victories.

In the first round of the Worcester HealthCare Softball League playoffs, Fairlawn thumped out a victory over Easter Seals 11-3. Round two is next week against the winner of AstraZeneca vs Mass Bar Association (don't ask me how they got in the league).
I'm listening to the Twins/Seattle game. Tommy Watkins is starting for the Twins. He was a Rochester Red Wing for a very long time and one of the true nice guys of the game. When Caroline and I showed up early for one Red Wings game in time for batting practice, Matt introduced us to him and he then proceeded to carry Caroline around the field and had her meet the rest of the team. I don't know many other six month olds that have got to participate in batting practice at the AAA level. According to sources, when he was told he was going to the show (in front of the whole team), he burst into tears he was so happy. I hope he gets more than a cup of coffee.
This was also e-mailed to me today. I watched it and almost wet myself I was laughing so hard. I tried to put it up (Jim showed me how to do this once, but I've since forgotten)...Denis Leary might be really rude and crude, but he's from Worcester and he makes me laugh.

I also came across some pictures that I didn't have the chance to put up.

Caroline's first naked dip in the lake. It took her a bit to get used to the water...

At the Tornadoes game this past weekend...we also got to see Matt in Pawtucket, but we were having so much fun watching the game that we didn't take any pictures...

Good Morning

It's five o'clock on a Friday morning and apparently I have nothing better to do than to blog.

I think that Smalls wants to be Jackie Chan when he grows up and tries to tell me this between the hours of three thirty and five AM. Feeling him move is amazing, don't get me wrong - I just wish that we could have this bonding time during regular waking hours.

On a different note - Caroline does a great job at keeping herself entertained in her crib. This was the scene we were treated to the other night when we went to go check on her:

The Week in Review

We had such a nice week. Besides me having to work on Thursday, it was the first extended time off that we've had as a family since Caroline was born. It was wonderful. We spent some time up at the lake last weekend and were able to just chill and hang out and do what we wanted. I'm glad we both have jobs to go to, but going back to work is going to be a drag on Monday. Sigh.

We went to the Children's Discovery Museum in Acton, MA on Tuesday. It was well worth the admission and we hope to go again soon. We all had a really good time (and took really good naps in the afternoon).

Last night we went to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats game. It's a great little ballpark and it was a good game.

Here are some other pics from the week:

Drawing with Dada on the chalkboard

Drawing with Mama (and Nemo)

Playing with the water pump with Dada

HELP!!! I'm trapped in a giant bubble!!!

STILL trapped...

Can you guess the real Caroline in the next two pictures?

Even when it's fake, she STILL gravitates towards the ketchup!

All tuckered out...

New Pics...

I'll post more stuff from this week later, but I wanted to get these up so I can get on my Doug Flutie jersy and watch the Bills game with Jim.

Seeing that Caroline has such talented Grandfathers, we really don't have the need to go out and get her pictures taken. But, to take the pressure off Grampy and Pops, who do such a marvelous job of helping us document this little girl's life, we went out and had portraits taken today.

With my apologies at the different sizes and weirdness of our scanner, here they are:

The first three are with Caroline in a dress that I had my pictures taken in when I was about her age. Somehow, even though it was a dress on me, it's only a smock on her...but we still like the way they came out.

This one is a bit "artistic", too...

Here are some in her nice Easter dress - she was truly in "monkey mode" during the shoot:

Meet...

Smalls.
Known as "Cleatus the Fetus" in some circles.
Expected to arrive sometime around Christmas.
We hope that he has more of a sense of punctuality than his big sister.

He's handsome, huh?

Picture Time

Okay - it's time to catch-up. I'll admit it, I've been slacking with the blog. There is no excuse, so I won't even go there.

We'll have at it with the pics from the past few weekends...

Got Humans?

As I sit here blogging, I am on hold with Verizon about our telephone that they promised to fix by Monday, July 30th at 6pm. Glad to know you can really count on them, huh? But, for the first time (I think ever), I am grateful for something that I saw on the usually useless evening news. A while back, CBS did a feature on a website that shows you ways that you can thwart the non-human/answering machines that you get when calling most companies and actually speak to a human. I am very happy to say that the cheat for Verizon is working fine. Actually, "fine" in the way that I've been on hold approximately 13 minutes and 46 seconds waiting to speak to someone - but at least I'm listening to music and not the stupid computer saying "I"m sorry, I didn't understand you" when I say "Let me talk to a person".
Jim was nice enough to put a link to the site on the side header of our blog. Please use it and enjoy talking to something with a heartbeat.

I know we've been short on the pics lately (hopefully Grampy will send some from this weekend and I can post them)...but here is Caroline reading her book about "bebes" (insert french accent):

And here she is utterly mesmerized by the hand fan that lights up...it doesn't take much, I tell you, to keep her entertained...
