Monday Night

This post will be short since we should be paying our bills and I'm being accosted by a 20 pound coon cat.

We got back for Portland last night. The Interactive Metronome conference was interesting and I was able to bring some information back to the clinic to use with clients today - which is good.

It was nice to get away for a while, but unfortunately, Miss Caroline has gotten into some bad sleep patterns recently. Little Miss I-Never-Want-To-Sleep-For-Fear-Of-Missing-Something-Good's antics landed us at LL Bean at 4AM Sunday morning because there was nothing else we could do with her in a hotel at that hour without waking up the entire floor. She had been awake since 2AM saying "Mama, Dada, Mo"...if anyone knows who Mo is...if they could let us in on the secret - that would be great. She's been going around recently asking "Where's Mo?"...if I knew who or what Mo is, I might be able to help...but alas, I don't have a clue. Sigh.

But, apparently, we're not the only parents that have shown up at Bean in the middle of the night. The sales people were wonderful and the first words out of their mouths were "She won't sleep, eh?" At least we got a great parking space and didn't have to deal with anyone else in the store.

Here are some pics from the weekend and last week...

The BEST Mohawks yet (even if they are off center)!:

Caroline likes to drink out of Daddy's coffee mug and talk on the Nextel simultaneously (even if she does get the two mixed up sometimes)...

Caroline loved modeling her new shoes in front of the mirror in the hotel room this weekend...

Us at LL Bean in the wee hours of Sunday. She doesn't even look a little tired, does she???

So much for a short post...

Saturday Night

We got to go see Uncle Matt at his new gig. He is right, this uniform brings out the blue in his eyes. We also learned that the best way to get a ball at a baseball game is to have a cute kid (and to know someone in the bullpen)...
Here are some pics:

Happy WGI!

It's WGI finals weekend again in exotic and mysterious Dayton, OH. I haven't been able to go to championships since I last performed in 1998, but every year I follow the goings-on of this weekend with baited breath.
The Scholastic Open finals are going on as I type. Congrats to Gates Chili High School for making the cut this year in Open Class. It's never easy to move up a class, let alone make finals in the higher class the first year you are moved up. Great Job!
St Ann's is also back in A Class and made finals. We were able to see them at the show we went to at Milton High and it was so nice to see the girls from Dorchester spinning their hearts out.
Blessed Sacrament is in fourth place (by .2 points) going into finals. They pulled out all the stops this year and it would be a shame not to see them medal. I was surprised to see Aimachi in the top three. They are always entertaining. I would love to pull up their website, but I can't since it's in Japanese and I wouldn't have a clue to what I was looking at. Finals don't end until almost midnight tonight - so I'll have to check on the scores in the morning before I go to work.

On another note: Caroline got into the Oreos last night (I should just learn not to buy them). She has always been a "twister" sort of Oreo eater. She takes the cookie apart and bites off the filling before eating the rest of the cookie. But last night, after her usual biting out the filling, she took her finger and scraped off as much as she could, so as not to miss any! I don't think she's ever seen an Oreo commercial and Jim and I certainly don't eat our Oreos that way (he's a biter and I'm a dunker). I wonder where she learned it from. We're thinking that how we eat Oreos is some sort of pre-programmed biological mechanism for survival...

For Daddy

Wyeth blocks recieving pictures through e-mail at work, but somehow Jim is able to get pics through the blog. Since I shrunk Caroline's Easter dress, she needed a new dress to wear to the weddings that we are going to this summer. At Kohl's we struck the jackpot. The problem was that there were too many nice dresses and I couldn't decide on one so I bought two.

Again, the pics aren't the best - but at least the dresses (and the subject) are cute!

Happy Easter (continued)...

Happy Easter! We are slowly winding down after a great day. I just figured that I would ramble for a bit before heading up to bed. The Red Sox are on the radio (and actually winning) and I can't think of much else I'd rather be doing than listening to the game drinking a glass of wine and eating Uncle Carl's chocolate chip cookies with my husband. =-)

We had a busy day yesterday. Early in the morning we went to the Red Cross on Plantation St to donate blood. We had called to schedule an appointment and never received a call back - so we figured that we had some extra time so we would just show up to donate. WRONG-O. When we showed up (we saw one person waiting and two people on mats getting blood extricated - or whatever they do with blood - there may have been stuff going on behind the scenes - but they didn't seem particularly busy) we were informed that they were not accepting walk-ins. We were willing to wait or have even just one of us donate - but we were told that we would not be able to give.

Let me get this straight. They're in dire need of blood. "Critical shortage" is what I seem to recall hearing. And they "don't accept" walk-ins? Even if they're willing to wait around? Hmmmmmm. Am I the only one that thinks this doesn't seem quite right?

So we went to Dunkies for some cocoa, played on the mega-swingset at the Lakeview School and went to the Ecotarium. And we kept all of our blood. Hmph!

We got to church at regular time this morning only to find there was standing room only. So we situated ourselves near the doors in the back (in case Little-Miss Monkeyshines necessitated a quick getaway). Mass was great. The children's choir was so pretty I was almost in tears a couple of times and didn't even mind standing for more than an hour. I love Easter services.

Then we were off to New Hampshire for a wonderful dinner with family. Sometimes it helps to have a day like this to appreciate how truly blessed we are.

Here are some pictures from today (courtesy of Caroline's Grampy):

Busted with her hands in the egg bowl!

Apparently plastic eggs are very tasty.

The new backpack that the Easter Bunny left for Caroline at Grammy and Grampy's house

The Easter Bunny was nice enough to put a Backyardigans DVD in the pack!

Can you tell by the expression on her face that she loves the Backyardigans?!?

Hangin' out with puppy.

Funniest. Video Ever - Happy Easter!

We've been exposing Caroline the Muppets on some old "Best Of" tapes that I have...one of the tapes has Harry Belafonte, Linda Rondstadt and John Denver on it...she was interested in the Banana Boat Song that Belafonte does in the opening number with the pig chorus. Last week, in the car, Karen started singing "Daaay-Oh" to her in the car, and she responded! So we knew she was into it a little bit...but, last night during bathies, she turned into a big-time singer, belting it out better than the Yankees crowd could ever do!

Funniest thing ever....

Video Bumper Crop

A ton of new videos that we've had on the camera until this morning - enjoy!

A leftover vid from our digi camera of her eating a chocolate cupcake...

Something struck her funny!

She hits some high notes!

Ummmm....Sure.

I got all excited when I read THIS article in the on-line Telegram & Gazette on Sunday.
And then I listened to the game yesterday. Yikes. If this keeps up it looks like my prediction from this year's draft will hold true: The Royals will win the AL Central.
Well - maybe not. But anything is possible on opening day!

The draft this weekend went very well. Jim updated our side links on the blog to make it easier to track our team. We took some risks, but we did seem to get some pretty good deals. We were able to keep perennial favorite Gregg Zaun (#1 on my list for the best butt in MLB and our team's namesake) and picked up Jason Kubel (a picture magnet of him as a Red Wing has been on our fridge since we moved here) and Boof in the draft. How can you lose with a guy whose real name is Boof on your team? I'm sure we'll find a way...but we had a good time never-the-less.

Caroline is in super-monkey mode currently. I think she's still coming down from this weekend. She had an excellent day on Saturday with Grammy and Grampy. Here are some pics (courtesy of Caroline's Grampy)...I think fun was had by all.
