More on Sam...

...I know it's been an "All-Sam-All-The-Time" sort of weekend, but everytime we pulled out the camera, Caroline was sleeping. We just offered to take a video of Caroline doing the "Hokey Pokey" and put it up, but she wasn't interested...

It's Been A While...

We're sitting here having an exciting night listening to an "All Zulu" pitching duel between Andy Sonnanstine and Dustin McGowan. Hopefully we can at least get a win out of the deal...

While it's good to be in a routine, this going back to work thing (even if it is part time) isn't for sissies. But I do have a lovely new job that I am really enjoying.

Caroline and Sam are doing well. Sam is getting bigger everyday and is turning into a real moose. He weighs almost fifteen pounds and is getting more active. He loves the exersaucer...
...and he started on rice cereal the other night.
Doesn't he look utterly thrilled out it? The jury is still out to see if he likes it or not. Frankly, I think he couldn't give two hoots about the food - I think he likes chomping on the spoon. We'll see how it goes.

We have discovered that Caroline is a Janis Joplin fan. "Piece of My Heart" seems to be her favorite right now. She sings, "Come on...TAKE IT! Now baby!" It's pretty funny. Right now she's on a bit of a sleeping strike. Last night I went in her room at eleven o'clock when I noticed her lights were on. She was lying on the floor, surrounded by her books and "reading". She looked at me rather quizzically and asked, "Why you not sleeping Mama?" I don't know what time she finally fell asleep, but she was raring to go at six thirty this morning! I wish I could function like that on such little sleep!
Speaking of sleeping...it's time for bed.

New Stuff

...It's been a while since posting. Here's what has been happening...

I found Caroline hanging in her toybox one morning:

And here she is being the oh-so-helpful big sister:

And playing dress-up with the winter clothes I was about to put away:

And Sam hanging out with Dada...

Who is Watching the Watcher?

Here's a pic from last weekend (courtesy of Nina) of Caroline making sure Sam and Pops stay out of trouble.

Saturday Night

Sam is asleep and has been for almost 2 whole hours. This is the longest he has gone without waking up and screaming for the past few days. Good times. Last night there were four of us in bed (with only two sleeping - I'll let you guess who) because Sam woke Caroline up with his screaming.

We went to the Butterfly Place today. We've been there before, so I won't go into it - but we had a fun time.

Movie Quotes - UPDATED (game over)

I saw this on a blog I frequent and vowed that if I could stay up past 9:00pm one night, I would do it. It was fun to come up with these, so here goes...Please make my day and leave comments when you figure out where they're from.

The rules:
- Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
- Post them here for everyone to guess (if you know them all, please don’t guess every one).
- Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
- No Googling or IMDb-ing.

Okay - I changed the rules a bit...To my surprise, someone did do some guessing (Thanks Charlene!!!) instead of x-ing out the guessed ones, I'll hyperlink the quotes to webpages to the movie that they are from...

1. "Hey, Dad? Wanna have a catch?" - Guessed by Charlene

2. "I know things. For instance, there are 108 beads in a Catholic rosary and there are 108 stitches in a baseball. When I heard that, I gave Jesus a chance."

3. "You have no power here. Be gone. Before somebody drops a house on you too."

4. "I forgot the other boy. Oh, what's his name. Oh, well, God bless What's-his-name." - Guessed by Charlene

5. "Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don't you think?"

6. "Hey, look. "Esc-a-pay". I wonder what that means? That's funny, it's spelled just like the word "escape." "

7. "Three thousand years of beautiful tradition, from Moses to Sandy Koufax... You're damn right I'm living in the f------ past!"

8. "Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand... YECCHH! " - Guessed by Charlene

9. "Well, as of this moment, they're on DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION!"

10. "There are two kinds of women: high maintenance and low maintenance. You're the worst kind. You're high maintenance but you think you're low maintenance." - Guessed by Charlene

Christmas!!!

Okay. Maybe not quite. But as close as you can get.
It was a crazy weekend. Nina and Pops were nice enough to come out so Jim and I could participate in our tenth (has it really been that long?) Tolleson Draft (the website is a bit outdated, but you get the point). We had ten hours to bask in baseball geekdom and have one of our better drafts in recent memory. We'll see how the season goes.
Here are some baseball-themed pics and a video (forget about the dancing in the video - the best part is when she asks Goofy how he's doing) from the past few days...
