The Worcester Three-Decker

Plugging around I found this article on the Holy Cross website regarding the Worcester three-decker, which is really a staple of housing here in the city - the article states that there are still some 4,000 in existence, meaning over 12,000 families reside in them. I myself lived in one for three years during college.

Anybody Know a Good Garage In Worcester?

Cause we're done with Diamond Chevrolet. Done. Just went through an issue with the key-theft system on the Malibu where there was too much wear in the cylinder, and caused the car to kick out. After 4 times in 3 weeks, enough was enough. In short, $110 for a "diagnostic" using a device that most likely I can buy for $130 on Amazon.com; second, their labor rate is now $110/hr...so, 4 hours of work with just about that in parts and a little for the state and USG and you're at $850.00...and not including the rental car costs! Oh, and they were a day late. So, any of you Worcesterites that frequent our blog know any indies out there that can do the job, we're all ears. Leave a comment!

And for techniks, this looks cool.

Some Worcester Links

While cleaning up my laptop today at lunch, I ran across a few blogs / websites that are Worcester-related...I frankly have not looked at them for a few years but figured that I'd put them here and "add to the community" of us Worcester bloggers...

Wither Cactus Pete's?

Pete's is, frankly, our favorite place to go to during the week when we want to not cook, for several reasons:

* It's close to home
* Wednesdays thru Fridays kids eat free
* Great desserts to go along with their other fare
* good service

Of course, there's one more thing which is dear to me: they serve Wachusett

But, there are rumors abounding that Pete's is kaput by the end of the summer...any real news on that? I check the cactus pete's website (they have a sister restaraunt in Vermont) but when I type in "cactuspetes.biz" I get this. So, that's ominous that their website is gone...
